Selected Areas in Cryptography (SAC) — 2027

Cryptography Cybersecurity Computer Science
Selected Areas in Cryptography is an annual Canadian cryptography conference, running since 1994 and ranked B by CORE. Each edition picks a small number of focus areas, typically covering block and stream cipher design and analysis, efficient implementations, mathematical aspects of cryptology, and applied cryptography.
The 2027 edition will be held at the University of Victoria in British Columbia, following the University of Ottawa in 2026. The campus is in Gordon Head, about 6 km northeast of downtown Victoria, where almost all of the city’s hotels are, so expect a short bus or taxi ride to sessions.
Dates and the call for papers have not been published yet. SAC has run in August in recent years with submissions closing in the spring, so a 2027 call would be expected in the first half of 2027. Note that SAC is often preceded by a summer school on the same campus, which is worth factoring into travel if you are coming a long way.
A naming note: SAC is also the acronym of the ACM Symposium on Applied Computing, an unrelated and much larger conference. They are listed separately here, and CORE ranks only this one.
