SAC 2026 is the 33rd edition of Selected Areas in Cryptography, held at the University of Ottawa. SAC has run in Canada since 1994 and is deliberately focused rather than general: each edition names a small number of themed areas, typically covering symmetric primitives, efficient implementation, side channels and post-quantum cryptography, which makes it a more approachable target than the IACR flagships for work that fits one of those tracks. The SAC Summer School runs on 24 and 25 August immediately before the conference, which is aimed squarely at graduate students and is worth attending on its own. The 2026 edition is co-located with the 23rd Conference on Privacy, Security and Trust and with QCrypt 2026. Note that this conference is unrelated to the ACM Symposium on Applied Computing, which shares the SAC acronym.
