ARES 2026 is the 21st International Conference on Availability, Reliability and Security, hosted by Linköping University at the city’s concert and congress hall. ARES covers the full breadth of security, privacy and dependability, from systems and network security through to privacy engineering, trust and resilience, and it draws 300 to 400 researchers, practitioners and policymakers. Its distinguishing feature is the workshop programme, which is unusually large for a conference of its size: the 2023 edition ran 14 regular workshops alongside 8 EU project workshops, so a substantial part of the week happens outside the main track. Linköping sits about two hours south of Stockholm by train and is small enough that the venue, the hotels and the old town are all within a short walk.
