Cryptography Network Security Cybersecurity Computer Science
CANS 2026 is the 25th International Conference on Cryptology and Network Security, hosted by the University of Wollongong in New South Wales. CANS covers applied cryptography, network and system security, privacy and the engineering side of secure protocols, with proceedings published by Springer in the LNCS series. It is a mid-sized conference with a conventional single-round review process, which makes it a realistic target for a first or second doctoral paper in applied cryptography. Wollongong hosts a long-standing cryptology and cybersecurity institute, and the campus sits below the Illawarra escarpment about 15 minutes from the city centre and its beaches. Note that CANS is a separate conference from ACNS, Applied Cryptography and Network Security, despite the similar name and overlapping scope.
