Fukui, JapanCybersecurity Cryptography Network Security Computer Science
ICICS 2026 is the 28th International Conference on Information and Communications Security, held in Fukui on the Sea of Japan coast. ICICS covers applied cryptography, network and system security, privacy and the security of emerging systems, with proceedings published by Springer in the LNCS series. The conference runs two submission rounds rather than one, which is useful if you miss the first: for 2026 round 1 closed on 12 March with notifications on 1 May, and round 2 closed on 1 June with notifications on 25 July. The exact venue has not been announced. Fukui is about three hours from Tokyo on the Hokuriku Shinkansen, which reached the city in 2024, and is the jumping-off point for Eiheiji Zen temple and Japan’s most productive dinosaur fossil beds.
