The IEEE Symposium on Foundations of Computer Science (FOCS) is, with STOC, one of the two flagship conferences in theoretical computer science, covering algorithm design and analysis, computational complexity, cryptographic foundations, quantum computation, and the theoretical underpinnings of machine learning and optimization. The 67th FOCS takes place November 8-11, 2026, in New York City. A*-ranked, FOCS draws the global theoretical computer science community and is typically accompanied by affiliated workshops. New York is served by three major airports and is one of the most rail- and transit-connected conference cities in North America.
