NLP Machine Learning

The venue for NLP applied to legal text, from contract analysis to legal reasoning and judgment prediction. Legal text rewards precision over fluency: an almost-correct contract clause is a liability, not a near miss. Topics include contract analysis, statutory interpretation, judgment prediction and the professional accountability questions those raise. Jurisdictional variation is a structural obstacle, because a model trained on one legal system transfers poorly to another.
