NLP Machine Learning

Covers multilingual and cross-lingual representation learning, low-resource languages, and language transfer. Most of the world’s languages have little digital text, so the central question is how much can be transferred from high-resource languages and where transfer breaks down, particularly for typologically distant or low-resource scripts. Evaluation is a persistent difficulty, since benchmarks themselves are scarce for exactly the languages that most need them.
