International Conference on Very Large Data Bases — 2027
August 23-27, 2027
Athens, GreeceDatabases Data Management Data Science
Important Dates
| Submission deadline | March 1, 2027 |
| Notification of acceptance | April 15, 2027 |
VLDB is one of the two flagship database conferences alongside SIGMOD, covering database systems, query processing and optimisation, storage, distributed data management and the expanding overlap between data management and machine learning. Papers appear in the Proceedings of the VLDB Endowment, so acceptance carries a journal publication. It suits researchers building and evaluating systems at scale, and the journal model means papers are expected to be complete rather than promising. Ranked A* by CORE. The 2027 meeting is the 53rd edition. The research track runs on a rolling monthly cycle rather than a single annual deadline: submissions open on the 20th of each month, abstracts fall on the 25th of the month before the paper, full papers on the 1st, and notification on the 15th of the month after that, with every deadline at 5 p.m. Pacific rather than anywhere-on-earth. The cycle for a given edition closes roughly five months before the conference.
