ECML PKDD is the flagship European machine learning and data mining conference, formed when the European Conference on Machine Learning and the Principles and Practice of Knowledge Discovery in Databases conference merged in 2008. It draws a worldwide audience and is the main European counterpart to ICML and KDD.
The programme is unusually broad for a single conference. Alongside the peer-reviewed research track it runs workshops and tutorials, a demo track, an applied data science track, a separate industry track, a discovery challenge and a PhD forum. That mix makes it a practical target for work that is too applied for a pure methods venue as well as for standard research papers.
The 2027 edition runs September 20 to 24 in Eindhoven. The venue and the submission deadlines have not been announced yet.
Eindhoven hosts a second major conference in 2027: Eurocrypt runs there from April 11 to 15, five months earlier.
