KDD is the flagship conference for data mining and applied machine learning, and one of the most industry-heavy of the top-tier venues. Alongside the research track it runs an applied data science track, a datasets and benchmarks track and an AI for science track, which makes it unusually broad for an A* conference.
The 2027 edition is the 33rd, running August 1 to 5 at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center. KDD uses two submission cycles. Cycle 1 closed on July 26, 2026 with abstracts a week earlier on July 19; its rebuttal period runs September 29 to October 13 and notifications go out November 14, 2026. Cycle 2 deadlines have not been published yet, so if you missed the first round, watch the research track call rather than assuming the conference is closed.
