RecSys - the ACM Conference on Recommender Systems - is the premier academic and industry venue for research on recommendation technology. It covers collaborative filtering, matrix factorisation, deep learning for recommendations, conversational recommenders, fairness and bias, evaluation methodology, and production deployment. The conference draws both academic researchers and practitioners from major technology companies whose core products depend on recommendation systems, making it one of the more applied-feeling top venues in the field.
RecSys 2026 is held at the Minneapolis Marriott City Center from September 28 to October 2, with the Doctoral Symposium on September 27. Paper acceptance notifications go out July 9, 2026. Minneapolis in late September is one of the best times to visit the city - the fall foliage is beginning, temperatures are comfortable (12-20C), and the North Loop, a kilometre northwest of the venue, has the strongest restaurant and bar scene downtown for conference evenings. The venue connects directly to the Skyway, Minneapolis’s 9.5-mile enclosed pedestrian bridge network that links downtown hotels and venues without going outside.
The Blue Line light rail runs from Minneapolis-Saint Paul Airport (MSP) to downtown in about 25 minutes, making arrival straightforward. MSP is a major Delta hub with direct connections from most North American cities.
This is the 20th edition of RecSys, marked by an anniversary session on the morning of September 30. The programme runs three main-session days from September 29 to October 1, bracketed by workshop and tutorial days on September 28 and October 2, with 15 workshops across the two. The social event is held offsite at the Mill City Museum. Note that August 17, 2026 is not only the early-bird registration cut-off but the date by which authors must be registered for a paper to appear in the proceedings.
