ACM International Conference on User Modeling, Adaptation and Personalization — 2027

UMAP is the ACM’s conference on user modelling, adaptation and personalization, jointly sponsored by SIGCHI and SIGWEB. It covers recommender systems, adaptive interfaces, personalised learning and health systems, user profiling, and increasingly the fairness and transparency questions that follow from all of them. It is the natural home for personalization work that is evaluated with users rather than only offline.

The 35th edition runs June 9 to 12, 2027 in Chicago. The venue has not been announced yet.

UMAP was promoted from B to A in the 2026 ICORE round, one of only three conferences to make that move. Anyone working from an older CORE list, or from a departmental venue list that has not been refreshed, will still have it recorded as a B.

The deadline structure rewards reading carefully, because the tracks are staggered across four months and the first one is not the paper track. Workshop and tutorial proposals close on December 11, 2026, seven weeks before full papers, so running a workshop is a decision you make before your own paper is written. Full papers need an abstract by January 22 and the paper itself by January 29, 2027. There is a fixed rebuttal window from March 2 to 8 when authors need to be available, with notification on March 15 and camera-ready copy on March 30.

Two later tracks are worth knowing about if the main round does not go your way: the industry track, late-breaking results and demos all close on March 22, 2027, a week after full-paper notifications, so work that missed can still be reshaped for the same conference. The doctoral consortium sits between the two, closing February 6.
