ACM Symposium on Principles of Database Systems — 2027

June 13-19, 2027

Huntington Beach, California, United States

Databases Data Management Theory

CORE Ranking A*

PODS, the ACM Symposium on Principles of Database Systems, is the theoretical counterpart to SIGMOD. It covers database theory: query languages and their expressiveness, complexity of query evaluation, data integration, consistency, provenance, and increasingly the theoretical foundations underneath machine learning over relational data. It has run yearly since 1982.

The 2027 edition runs June 13 to 19 in Huntington Beach, California, co-located with SIGMOD as always. The two share a week and a venue, so one trip covers both the theory and the systems side of databases, and the joint programme is the main reason people attend one and sit in on the other. The venue has not been announced yet and PODS submission deadlines are not yet published.
