The International Conference for Computational Social Science (IC2S2) is the main annual gathering for researchers who use computational, statistical, and machine learning methods to study social phenomena. The 2026 edition is hosted at the University of Vermont in Burlington, a university with a strong tradition in complex systems and network science. The conference spans social networks and diffusion, political polarization and misinformation, cultural dynamics, economic inequality, urban mobility, natural language processing applied to social data, and the ethics and methodology of computational social research. IC2S2 is genuinely interdisciplinary - attendees include sociologists, political scientists, physicists, computer scientists, and economists - and the programme reflects a wide range of methodological approaches. Burlington in late July is at the height of the Vermont summer, with the Lake Champlain waterfront and surrounding Green Mountains providing excellent options for evening and weekend activities.
