Hardware-Supported Software Security

HS3: 2nd Workshop on Hardware-Supported Software Security

In conjunction with
European Symposium on Research in Computer Security 2026
September 14-18, 2026
Sapienza University of Rome
Rome, Italy

Cybersecurity Privacy Cryptography Security Research

Covers hardware features and architectures that strengthen software security. Hardware roots of trust, enclaves and memory protection can enforce properties software cannot enforce alone, but they also introduce assumptions about the hardware that repeated side-channel results have shown to be fragile. The recurring lesson is that hardware guarantees hold only under a threat model, and side-channel research keeps narrowing that model.
