ACM Web Science brings together researchers who study the web as a social and technical system at once, rather than as either pure engineering or pure social science. Typical work covers online platforms and their governance, misinformation, network structure, collective behaviour, and the effects of algorithmic systems on the people using them. It is deliberately interdisciplinary, and computer scientists here share a programme with sociologists, lawyers and political scientists.
The 19th edition runs May 25 to 28, 2027 at the Shaw Foundation Alumni House on the National University of Singapore’s Kent Ridge campus. Workshops and tutorials are on May 25, the first day, so a workshop-only trip is short and the main programme runs to the 28th.
Note where the venue is. Kent Ridge is in the southwest of the island, about 9 km from the Marina Bay and Civic District hotel clusters where visitors normally stay, and every Singapore hotel listed below sits in that downtown group. The campus is on the Circle Line at Kent Ridge MRT, so it is a straightforward commute rather than a difficult one, but it is a daily commute and worth planning for rather than discovering.
The December 15, 2026 paper deadline is firm. The organisers state outright that there will be no extensions, and that the author list cannot be changed after submission. Both are worth taking seriously: many conferences quietly extend, and planning on that here would be a mistake, while a locked author list means any contribution question has to be settled before you submit rather than during the review period. Notification is February 18, 2027 and camera-ready versions are due March 4. All deadlines are 23:59 anywhere on earth.
Workshop and tutorial calls were published on August 15, 2026; the proposal deadlines had not been announced at the time of writing.
