Parallel Computing Algorithms Theory Distributed Systems
SPAA, the ACM Symposium on Parallelism in Algorithms and Architectures, sits at the boundary between theory and systems. It covers parallel and distributed algorithms, data structures for concurrency, scheduling, memory models and the architectural assumptions those algorithms are built on, which makes it one of the few venues where algorithm designers and architects present to the same room.
The 39th edition runs June 5 to 11, 2027 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta as part of the Federated Computing Research Conference. That co-location is unusually relevant for SPAA specifically: FCRC also brings STOC on the theory side and ISCA on the architecture side into the same building the same week, and SPAA sits between them. Submission deadlines for 2027 have not been published yet.
