IROS is one of the two largest robotics conferences, alongside ICRA, covering manipulation, perception, planning, humanoids, field robotics and the learning methods now threaded through all of them. It is CORE A and moves around the world each year.
The 2027 edition runs September 26 to October 1, 2027 at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, a sixteenth century Medici fortress whose ramparts now enclose a modern exhibition complex. It is about ten minutes’ walk north of Santa Maria Novella station, and every hotel listed on this page is within 800 m of the halls.
Two scheduling notes. MICCAI 2027 runs September 27 to October 1 in Auckland, so the two overlap almost exactly; if your work sits between medical imaging and robotics, you will have to choose. And late September is the tail of high season in Florence, which is pleasant weather and expensive rooms, so book earlier than the conference size alone suggests.
Submission deadlines for 2027 have not been confirmed by the organisers.
