GitHub Universe is GitHub’s annual developer conference, bringing together software engineers, open-source maintainers, and AI-assisted development enthusiasts for two days of announcements, sessions, and community events. The 2026 edition takes place October 28-29 in San Francisco. Universe covers GitHub Copilot and AI coding tools, GitHub Actions and CI/CD automation, GitHub Models and API access to AI models, security and supply chain features, and the open-source ecosystem. The San Francisco venue for 2026 has not yet been announced; previous editions have been held at venues including the Palace of Fine Arts. San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is about 25 minutes from downtown by BART.
