FOSDEM (Free and Open Source Software Developers European Meeting) is the world’s largest gathering of open-source developers, held annually at the Universite Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) Solbosch Campus in Brussels, Belgium. The event is completely free to attend with no registration required. Developer rooms covering Go, Rust, Python, Erlang, Haskell, Kubernetes, BSD, network operations, security, databases, and dozens of specific project communities fill the campus buildings across two days. The main tracks in the Janson auditorium cover cross-cutting themes in open-source software, licensing, and community governance. FOSDEM 2027 dates have not yet been announced; the event is traditionally held on the first weekend of February. Brussels-Midi/South station is connected by metro to the ULB campus area and by international rail to Paris (1h22), London via Eurostar (2h), Amsterdam (1h53), and Cologne (1h47).
