ECIR is Europe’s premier information retrieval conference, the continent’s counterpart to SIGIR with a strong tradition of student and reproducibility papers. The 2027 edition runs March 21-25 at St Mary’s Stadium, Southampton FC’s ground on England’s south coast, whose conference wing hosts the sessions.
ECIR spreads its submissions across seven dates rather than one. Full papers, short-paper abstracts and the IR for Good track closed on October 5, 2026, but much of the call stayed open after that: short papers and reproducibility abstracts to October 12, reproducibility papers to October 19, the doctoral consortium to October 26, and demos, doctoral papers, industry day, tutorials and resource papers to November 2. Every one of those tracks shares a single notification date, December 7, 2026, with author and early registration closing December 21.
