CSF, the IEEE Computer Security Foundations Symposium, is the main venue for the theoretical foundations of computer security: formal models of security properties, protocol verification, information flow, cryptographic proofs and the tools used to check them. It suits researchers whose contribution is a formalism or a proof rather than an implementation, and it is smaller and considerably more formal than the four top-tier security conferences. Ranked A by CORE. The 2027 meeting is the 40th edition. CSF uses rolling deadlines rather than a single annual one, inviting submissions three times a year with summer, autumn and winter cut-offs, so there is almost always a next deadline rather than a year-long wait.
