CHES is the IACR Conference on Cryptographic Hardware and Embedded Systems, the leading venue for hardware security, side-channel analysis, fault attacks and efficient cryptographic implementation. It is ranked A by CORE.
The 2027 edition runs 6 to 9 September 2027 in Cancun, Mexico. A venue has not been announced yet, so whether the conference lands in the Zona Hotelera or downtown is still open.
Submission runs through TCHES, the IACR journal, in four volumes a year rather than as a single conference deadline. For the 2027 edition: volume 1 closed 15 July 2026, volume 2 closes 15 October 2026 with notification 15 December, volume 3 closes 15 January 2027 with notification 15 March, and volume 4 closes 15 April 2027 with notification 15 June. All deadlines are 23:59:59 anywhere on earth. Accepted papers are published in TCHES and presented at the conference, so a rejection from one volume can be revised and resubmitted to the next.
One practical warning: early September is the peak of Atlantic hurricane season on the Yucatan Peninsula. Direct strikes in any given week are uncommon, but regional flight disruption is a genuine possibility, so book a flexible fare and travel insurance.
