A CARS 2026 special session on AI-driven water and wastewater treatment, process control, and smart systems. Topics include machine learning for contaminant removal, process optimization, digital twins, sensor integration and smart monitoring, autonomous treatment systems, predictive maintenance, AI-driven design of treatment materials, prediction and control of emerging contaminants such as PFAS, resource recovery, and hybrid mechanistic plus data-driven models. The paper submission deadline is July 15, 2026, and accepted peer-reviewed papers appear in the IEEE CARS 2026 Proceedings.
