AI in Software Modernization
AISM: Workshop on AI in Software Modernization
In conjunction with
IEEE/ACM International Conference on Automated Software Engineering 2026
October 12-16, 2026
Holiday Inn Munich City Centre
Munich, Germany
Covers using AI to modernize legacy software systems and codebases, a problem with enormous industrial weight and little glamour. Topics include comprehending undocumented code, translating between languages and platforms, incremental migration strategies that keep a system running throughout, and validating that modernised code preserves behaviour, which is far harder than producing plausible-looking replacement code.
