SIGMOD — 2027

The ACM SIGMOD/PODS Conference is one of the two flagship venues for database and data management research, alongside VLDB. SIGMOD 2027 takes place June 13-19 in Huntington Beach, California, bringing together researchers and practitioners working on database systems, query processing, data integration, storage, and the growing intersection of data management with machine learning. The joint PODS programme covers the theoretical foundations of database systems. Huntington Beach offers an unusual conference setting - a beach resort on the Southern California coast, close to John Wayne Airport and about an hour from Los Angeles and San Diego.

SIGMOD reviews research papers in four rolling rounds, so there is almost always a next deadline rather than a single annual cliff. For the 2027 edition the last of them closes with an abstract on October 10 and the paper on October 17, 2026, followed by an author feedback window from December 10 to 17. The January 19, 2027 notification is accept, reject or revision, with revised papers due February 19 and a final notification on March 12, 2027. Budget for that revision round: it is part of the normal path, not an exception.

The other tracks run separately. The industrial track closes November 24, 2026 with notification on March 4, 2027. The demonstration track closes January 11, 2027, and that date is worth checking twice: it was moved earlier from January 15, along with the COI declaration from January 16 to January 12 and the camera-ready from April 2 to April 1. Deadlines normally slip later, so anyone working from the original dates now has less time than they think. All deadlines are 23:59 anywhere on earth.
