The USENIX Symposium on Operating Systems Design and Implementation (OSDI) is the top-ranked academic venue for systems research, covering operating systems, distributed systems, storage, networking, and related infrastructure areas. Organised by USENIX, it brings together researchers from academia and industry to present work on the design, implementation, and evaluation of systems software. OSDI has a reputation for rigorous peer review and consistently high-impact papers - many of the foundational techniques underpinning modern cloud infrastructure and distributed systems were first published here. The 2026 edition is hosted at The Westin Seattle in downtown Seattle, a fitting location given the city’s concentration of systems and infrastructure engineering talent at companies including Amazon, Microsoft, and Google.
