MICRO - the IEEE/ACM International Symposium on Microarchitecture - is the flagship conference for processor microarchitecture and related systems research, jointly sponsored by IEEE TCCA and ACM SIGMICRO and ranked A* by CORE. The 59th edition comes to Athens, Greece, at the Athenaeum InterContinental Athens from October 31 to November 4, 2026.
MICRO covers processor pipeline design, out-of-order execution, branch prediction, cache and memory hierarchy, hardware security, compiler-architecture co-design, and emerging architectures for AI and high-performance computing. The conference is known for its strong industry presence alongside academic research, and the 2026 edition introduces an inaugural Industry Track with a tailored review process for production-focused architectural work.
