Interspeech is the largest conference on the science and technology of spoken language, covering speech recognition and synthesis, speaker and language identification, prosody, phonetics, paralinguistics and the speech-language models now reshaping the field. It is CORE A and organised by ISCA.
The 2027 edition runs August 29 to September 2, 2027 in Sao Paulo, and it is the first Interspeech ever held in South America, chaired from the University of Campinas and the Pontifical Catholic University of Sao Paulo. The venue is the Mercado Livre Arena Pacaembu, a conference hall inside the old Pacaembu stadium.
The arena is about 1.1 km from Avenida Paulista, which is where the hotels, the metro and the restaurants are, so the usual Sao Paulo advice applies: stay on or near Paulista and treat the short hop to Pacaembu as a walk or a quick ride rather than hunting for something beside the stadium.
Late August is the end of Sao Paulo’s dry season and one of the pleasanter times to be there, around 15 to 25C on the plateau. If you are travelling from the northern hemisphere, note that Guarulhos is the international airport and Congonhas the domestic one, which matters if you are adding a trip elsewhere in Brazil.
ISCA has already announced the following editions too: San Antonio in 2028 and Athens in 2029. Submission deadlines for 2027 have not been published yet.
