The IEEE International Conference on Data Engineering (ICDE) is the premier IEEE forum for research on database systems, data management, and data engineering. ICDE 2026 is held at the Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth in downtown Montreal, covering research across query processing, storage systems, data streams, data integration, knowledge graphs, and the growing intersection of data management with machine learning. The conference draws approximately 700 researchers and practitioners from academia and industry, with a strong industrial track alongside the main research programme. Montreal’s data science ecosystem - anchored by Mila, McGill, and Universite de Montreal - makes it a natural host, and the venue’s direct connection to Montreal Central Station and the RESO underground network means attendees can move around the city without going outside. ICDE alternates between North American and international venues year to year, making the Montreal edition a relatively accessible choice for attendees based in North America or Europe.
