HotNets is SIGCOMM’s venue for early and deliberately provocative networking ideas. It exists to debate research agendas rather than to present finished systems, so papers are short, sessions leave real time for argument, and attendance is kept small on purpose. Work that appears here often turns up two or three years later as a full SIGCOMM or NSDI paper.
That makes it a useful conference to read even if you are not submitting, because it is the clearest signal of where the field thinks it is going next.
HotNets 2026 runs November 16 to 17 in Salt Lake City. The venue has not been announced. Papers closed July 16, 2026, author notifications are due September 24, 2026, and camera-ready versions on October 23.
