CCNC is the IEEE Communications Society’s conference on consumer communications and networking, covering the networking, wireless and systems work behind consumer devices: home and personal networks, smart environments, connected vehicles, multimedia delivery, and the security and privacy problems that come with putting all of it in people’s homes. It is deliberately close to industry, and its timing and location reflect that.
The 2027 edition runs January 9 to 12 at the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel & Casino on the Strip, which is both the venue and the conference hotel, so staying on site removes the commute.
Book early, and understand why. CES 2027 runs January 6 to 9 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, about 2 km away, and CCNC opens on the day CES closes. CES is one of the largest trade shows in the world and it lifts room rates and empties availability across the whole city, not just near its own venue. Arriving for the start of CCNC means arriving into the tail of that, so the first night or two are the expensive ones. Anyone attending both gets a rare clean handover; anyone attending only CCNC should still plan around CES.
January in Las Vegas is cool and dry, roughly 5 to 15C, which is a considerably more comfortable time to be there than the summer.
Seven tracks, and the one that closed first is not the only way in. Technical papers closed on August 31, 2026 under a deadline the organisers marked firm, with notification on October 1 and camera-ready copy on October 15.
Several tracks remain open after that. Posters close September 25, 2026, tutorial proposals September 30, workshop papers October 4, and both demonstrations and work-in-progress papers October 5. Poster, demo and work-in-progress decisions all arrive on November 3, workshop papers on November 10, and camera-ready copy for those tracks falls in mid to late November.
One detail worth noticing: the conference marks each deadline explicitly as either firm or extended. Technical papers, tutorials and work-in-progress are labelled firm, while posters, demonstrations and workshop proposals have already been extended once. That is more candour than most calls offer, and it tells you which dates are worth planning against and which have historically moved.
