Darmstadt’s science and congress centre, opened in 2007, in the city centre beside the Schloss and the TU Darmstadt city campus. It hosts EUSIPCO 2027. The lowercase name is deliberate: it is named after darmstadtium, chemical element 110, which was discovered at the GSI Helmholtz Centre in Darmstadt in 1994 and named after the city.
