The Privacy Enhancing Technologies Symposium (PETS) is the leading academic venue for privacy research, covering anonymity networks, tracking and fingerprinting, differential privacy, data protection, surveillance, and the societal dimensions of privacy technology. Papers are published in the open-access Proceedings on Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PoPETs) journal on a rolling four-issue annual cycle. PETS 2026 takes place July 20-25 at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre in Calgary, Alberta, bringing the symposium to Canada for the first time in several years. Calgary offers easy access from most North American research institutions and reasonable transatlantic connections for European attendees. The conference dates fall after the Calgary Stampede festival, avoiding the peak crowd period.
