OOPSLA at SPLASH — Object Oriented Programming, Systems, Languages, and Applications

What It Is
OOPSLA is a core track of SPLASH that focuses on programming languages and software engineering research. It brings together work that spans language theory, system design, practical implementation, and real world applications.

Scope
Research areas include language design, type systems, compilers, runtime systems, program analysis, verification, testing, developer tools, software ecosystems, and empirical studies of programming practice. Both foundational and applied contributions are welcome.

Review Model
Submissions typically follow a multi-round reviewing process with opportunities for revision. Accepted papers are published in the Proceedings of the ACM on Programming Languages (PACMPL) and presented at SPLASH.

Artifacts
An artifact evaluation process complements paper review, encouraging reproducibility and usability of research contributions.

Who Should Submit

  • Researchers advancing programming languages and software engineering with strong theoretical or empirical results
  • Authors reporting on tools, systems, compilers, or developer experience studies
  • Teams bridging research and practice with impactful evaluations

Why Attend
OOPSLA offers a forum for deep engagement on programming language research while connecting theory and practice within the broader SPLASH community.
