Microsoft Build 2026 takes place at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture in San Francisco’s Marina District, June 2-3. The conference shifts away from Seattle for the first time in years, with a deliberately smaller in-person format: roughly 2,500 developers rather than the sprawling event of previous years. The programme focuses on Azure AI services and the Azure AI Foundry platform, GitHub Copilot and agentic development tools, .NET and C# advances, and Microsoft’s developer infrastructure across the Microsoft 365 platform. Sessions are a mix of deep technical architecture talks, hands-on labs, and direct access to the engineering teams behind the products. Keynotes are livestreamed free at build.microsoft.com for those not attending in person. Fort Mason sits on San Francisco Bay with views toward the Golden Gate Bridge and is about 20 minutes by taxi from Union Square and the Moscone Center hotel cluster. San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is the nearest major hub, about 30-35 minutes by BART or 40 minutes by car.
