International Conference on Pattern Recognition (ICPR) — 2027

ICPR is the flagship conference of the International Association for Pattern Recognition, covering pattern recognition, computer vision, image and signal analysis, and the machine learning underneath them. The 2027 edition is the 29th, and it is the first ICPR to run fully virtually, with no physical venue at all.

It sits between the two in-person editions rather than replacing them: the 28th was in Lyon in 2026 and the 30th is in Sydney in 2028. ICPR has historically been biennial, held in even years, so this virtual edition is an addition to the cycle rather than a move within it.

The dates are split into two blocks, not one continuous run. Sessions are held on October 4, 5 and 6, then again on October 14 and 15, 2027, five days spread across two weeks with an eight-day gap in between. Anything that shows this as a twelve-day event, including the date range at the top of this page, is a limitation of how a single start and end date can be recorded, not the real schedule.

Every date here is tentative, which the organisers state directly, and the rebuttal date is marked provisional on top of that. Treat the whole timeline as subject to change in a way you would not for an established in-person edition, and check the call before planning around any single date.

The review timeline runs from a paper deadline of March 1, 2027 anywhere on earth, with reviews returned to authors on April 9, a rebuttal window around April 16, notification on May 24 and camera-ready copy on June 7. The conference site opens for delegates on September 27, about a week before the first sessions.

Being virtual, this edition needs no flights, no hotel and no visa, and the four months between notification and the first session leave room that a travelling conference often does not.
