Doha Qatar

Doha is a rapidly growing global city set along the Arabian Gulf, known for its striking skyline and blend of tradition and innovation. As a major hub for international business and events, it offers advanced conference facilities, luxury hotels, and a polished urban environment shaped by Middle Eastern culture.

What to Expect

Conference attendees can expect modern venues, efficient infrastructure, and high quality hospitality. The city is clean, organized, and designed with wide boulevards, waterfront districts, and architectural landmarks that create an impressive backdrop for professional gatherings.

Things to Do Before and After the Conference

  • The Corniche: Walk along the sweeping waterfront promenade with skyline views and coastal breezes.
  • Museum of Islamic Art: Explore one of the region’s most celebrated cultural institutions set beside the sea.
  • Souq Waqif: Experience traditional markets filled with spices, textiles, crafts, and local cuisine.
  • Katara Cultural Village: Discover galleries, performance venues, and cultural exhibitions.
  • Desert Excursions: Take a guided trip into the dunes for a unique desert landscape experience.
  • Dining Scene: Enjoy a mix of Middle Eastern flavors and international cuisine across modern districts.
What to Do

The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) on the Corniche is one of the finest dedicated museums of Islamic art in the world, in a landmark I.M. Pei building. Souq Waqif is a restored traditional market in the heart of the city with excellent Qatari and Levantine restaurants and a vibrant evening atmosphere. The Pearl-Qatar is a man-made island with upscale dining and waterfront promenading. For those with a car or taxi, Al Zubarah Fort (2 hours north) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the inland sea at Khor Al Adaid is one of the world’s rare places where the sea encroaches deep into the desert.

Getting There

Hamad International Airport (DOH) consistently ranks among the best airports in the world and is a major Qatar Airways hub connecting to every continent. The Doha Metro’s Red Line connects the airport to the city center in about 25 minutes, with taxis and rideshare also available.

Getting Around

The Doha Metro (Red, Gold, and Green lines) opened in 2019 and covers most visitor-relevant areas. Karwa taxis and Uber/Careem are widely available. The Corniche waterfront is walkable; temperatures make outdoor walking impractical from May to September, when air-conditioned transport is essential.

Weather & Timing

October to April is the only comfortable outdoor period, with temperatures between 15-28C. Summer (May-September) sees temperatures regularly above 40C with high humidity - all outdoor activities shift to early morning or are replaced by indoor venues. Conference season concentrates in the cooler months.
