Bowie is one of the largest cities in Maryland, in Prince George’s County in the corridor between Washington DC, Annapolis, and Baltimore. It is a suburban city known for Bowie State University, a historically Black university and the oldest such institution in Maryland, as well as for its parks and the Bowie Baysox minor-league baseball team. Spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) are the most pleasant, with mild temperatures. October, when CCSC Eastern is held, is crisp and comfortable with fall color. Summers are hot and humid, and winters are cold with occasional snow.
