Boston United States
Boston is one of America’s oldest and most storied cities, founded in 1630 on a peninsula in Massachusetts Bay. Home to world-class universities including MIT and Harvard just across the Charles River, it has a culture shaped by intellectual ambition, Revolutionary history, and fierce civic pride. The city’s compact, walkable neighborhoods reward exploration: Beacon Hill’s brick rowhouses and gas-lit streets, the Italian bakeries and restaurants of the North End, the galleries and theatres of the South End, and the new energy of the Seaport District along the waterfront. For conference travelers, Boston is exceptionally easy to navigate, with Logan Airport minutes from downtown and a reliable subway. The Seaport District, where many technology and science conferences are held, sits just across the Reserved Channel from downtown and has exploded with hotels, restaurants, and event venues over the past decade. Museums abound, from the Museum of Fine Arts and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum to the MIT Museum and the Harvard Natural History Museum. Baseball at Fenway Park, seafood at the harbor, and a legendary craft beer scene round out the off-conference hours.
